Guild Wars 2 Character Level Cap
Isaiah Cartwright (Izzy, to his friends), Guild Wars 2 Game Designer, has confirmed that the character level cap for players in GW2 will be 80.
What's even more interesting is that instead of taking longer and longer to go from level to level, it takes about the same time.
As the Guild Wars 2 world is filled with an almost endless stream of things to do, there's more to levelling than just killing stuff and gaining XP. Progression is based on achievements, skill collection, trait collection, dungeons, crafting, items and lots more.
A few months months ago the GW2 Blog Krewe pondered what the maximum character level might be. After much animated debate we thought that the initial cap might be around level 70-75, with future campaigns / expansions offering small increases up to level 100 maximum. We weren't too far off the mark, though the future increases haven't been confirmed (or denied).
Consistent level progression instead of the exponential system used by other MMORPGS is just another way that Guild Wars 2 will be so much more fun to play.
