Guild Wars 2 Earth Elementalist
The Ele tank still lives in Guild Wars 2 in the form of the Earth Elementalist. Rock solid in defence (if you'll pardon the pun) and punishing in attack, the Earth Elementalist is a formidable foe.
EARTH attunement offers automatic magical protection to the Elementalist along with powerful defensive skills which can turn the ground, or even flesh, to stone. The earth Ele is not just a defender though as volcanic eruptions and seismic shocks are all at the Elementalist's call.
Guild Wars 2 Earth Elementalists have a number of special skill types:
Glyphs - enhance or modify the natural power of the Elementalist to increase the damage, range, and duration of spells.
Signets - Signets provide an ongoing benefit to the Elementalist, but can also be activated for a greater effect. An Earth Elementalist equipped with the Signet of Earth has increased damage resistance, but activating the Signet sends out a wave of stone, stunning nearby enemies.
Conjure Spells - Summon useful items and potent weapons that she or other party members can use.
Area Spells - Create hazards and mayhem all over the field of battle.

Some of the Skills at an Earth Elementalist's disposal are :
Churning Earth : Hold down to charge, slowing foes around you, then release to damage them.
Eruption : Earth moving forces combine to destroy your enemies.

Rock Barrier :
Sandstorm : Blast your enemies with a destructive sand attack.
Shield Smack :
Shockwave : Batter your enemies with a wave of earth.
Stoneflesh Aura : Turns your flesh to stone for massive armor boost.
Aquatic Skills :
Magnetic Current : Pull an enemy to you and immobilize them.
Rock Anchor : Anchor a rock to your foe, making them sink
