THE GW2 BLOG KREWE LOVES THE GAME DEMOS!
Upcoming GW2 Demos
Now that the dust has settled on Comic-Con, attention can be turned to the upcoming shows where Guild Wars 2 will be on display with new and expanded GW2 demos for fans to play.Next up is gamescom, Europe's largest game expo, in Cologne, Germany, from August 17-21 so be sure to check the NCsoft Booth (A11/B10, Hall 9.1). This will be ArenaNet's first European show this year so you can be sure there'll be a bunch of new surprises to keep GW2 fans happy. One of those surprises is that the newly redesigned Sylvari race AND the Asura will be playable in the demo!
Some of the things to look forward to in the newest Guild Wars 2 demo are :
- For the first time, you'll be able to access the character appearance customization feature and change the way your character looks.
- A higher level demo experience for players who want a challenge. Face powerful Orrian enemies on land, engage them in battle underwater and face off against a new boss.
- As a new Charr player, you will be able to choose your destiny as a member of the Blood, Iron, or Ash Legion. You can also choose to play the norn or human starting experience.

Another really big revelation is the premiere of Guild Wars 2 Player vs Player (PvP) at gamescom! This is bound to be popular so be early and get to the GW2 area of the ESL booth to get involved in some PvP experience. A highlight will certainly be the exhibition matches between a team of ArenaNet developers and the European guild BOON Control on the ESL center stage! As has become tradition, there'll also be a costume competition on Sunday, August 21, so start gathering your crafting materials and putting your imagination to work NOW!
The weekend after gamescom, the Guild Wars 2 roadshow returns to Seattle for PAX Prime (August 26-28). Considering it's ArenaNet's home turf you can look forward to a huge turnout of staff, with information-packed panels, some big surprises, cool swag and, of course, loads of GW2 demo stations waiting for eager fans.
After Seattle, the GW2 roadshow will be returning to Europe, firstly for the Eurogamer EXPO in London (September 22-25) and then on to the massive Paris Games Week (October 21-25).It wouldn't surprise if the 8th profession were also revealed and playable at one of these conventions. (Jackal still thinks it's going to be a "GOLEMESMER" - Golem summoning mind controller)So there's no rest for the wicked, or the ArenaNet team. After all this the Guild Wars 2 launch date is going to seem a whole lot closer.
